All I Want For Christmas….
All I want for Christmas is NOT my two front teeth! I
want ALL of them. And I want them to last me my lifetime. I’m told my
life span is increasing every year – providing I eat
right and exercise regularly – I do. But, and here’s the clincher,
my teeth may not make it to the end of my life span.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not a “lick & a
promise” tooth brusher. I faithfully brush twice a day, sometimes three
times. I was one of the first to use the Interplak
and then the Sonicare. Ok, I’m not such a
faithful flosser. Who is anyway? I visit my
dentist twice a year. Have been for almost fifty years. So why am I
asking for all my teeth? I’m told I am among 80% of the population that has periodontal disease. WHAT?
HOW COULD THAT BE?
My dentist tells me brushing doesn’t get in between my
teeth where the anaerobic species of bacteria live. (Those devils live
without air!) And all my relentless brushing was a little too much for
the outside of my teeth. I ended up creating grooves along my teeth and
my gums. Which, my dentist says, are really hard to restore.
Which are causing me jolts of sensitivity every time I drink something
cold or eat a piece of candy. Great.
I asked my dentist if he flosses. Not only did he say
he doesn’t, he said he didn’t brush his teeth either! HOW can that be? He
uses a new technology called Dental Air Force. It REPLACES tooth brushing
and flossing. It uses water, air and a dental cleaner. It sprays between
teeth. In fact, it will even whiten teeth like the professional bleaching
if I use hydrogen peroxide in it. It’s for the home and my whole family
can use it. Think power washer.
He told me where I could get one. I hope it gets here
for Christmas. So, all I want for Christmas is a Dental Air Force system.
